I'm looking out the window and wondering if I feel sadness or something elese of Tae's passing... Sadness because I will not get to go to the pool and watch her swim across so crazy with a big smile on her face or play bingo 7 times and I always ended up with the board with the least amount of bingo's.....she knew which board was the winning one!  I'll always remember the 1st day at Caughlin Ranch Elementary School ... little hands/little feet and the sweet smile ... she was so shy(for a short time)... and then came recess ... swings.   Tae could not say my name so she called me "Awnee" and from that point on "Tonja" was Awnee for Tae and everyone else!   I was turning into that Big Sis I felt could be and I could not wait to see her in the morning.   Soon Marsh and Tae were my weekday afternoons and weekends when Nanette & Mark needed me ... I loved hanging out at the house having lunch PB&J and a Diet Coke!  I learned so much from Tae and she gave me so much Joy ... so I think Joy is the feeling that has overcome me today ... The Joy of Tae makes me cry, giggle and love. I will always have this Joy (Tae) in my heart each day.  I have grown into a 33 year old mom to be and I know that Tae will be with me everyday ... cheering me on and I will always cheer her on until we see each other again.   So Joy is what I have in my heart and will always.....

I will never forget Taelor. She was such a bundle of joy, and happiness. Her teacher, Mrs. Jamison and I were reminising about the past and how Taelor has truely effected our lives. "candy, 202?" She used to say riding down the halls of McQueen on her red bike. Or how she held my hand in the car all the way to Marshall's golf banquet. She was the master at kitty bingo, she kicked my butt many times. Taelor was always gental, and always kind, never had an angry face when I was around.   She will never be forgotten in our hearts, and only the fondest memories will remain.

Rest in Peace, we know you are - Love Tia

We, all of us at Nevada Humane Society, are so grateful and honored that Taelor chose to spend time with the animals at Nevada Humane Society. Her kindness to them made a wonderful difference in their lives. We're so very sorry to learn of her passing. Her beautiful spirit lives on in each of our memories.

Sincerely,

Bonney Brown
Executive Director, Nevada Humane Society, Reno

We never had the opportunity to meet in person, but your dad told me all about you.  He was, and still is, very proud of you and how you positively impacted the lives of all those around you.  Your foundation will benefit other children and you will forever be close in our hearts.  When we get the chance to meet in heaven someday, with a renewed sprititual heart, body and mind, we will enjoy a life free of sorrow and pain and go for a long horseback ride to Texas and beyond.

Let thy kingdom come...

Devin, Indira and Morgan Shepard

I will always remember how much Taelor loved the Barnie song.  Whenever I would play my banjo at a family gathering Taelor would request the song "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family..."  What a sweet spirit Taelor had.  She will be missed.

Love,

Shawn (Spiars)

Tae,
You taught us to enjoy the simple pleasures in life like dog kisses, bingo games, diet cokes, smiles & laughter, & of course, love!  You have left a hole in our hearts & a void in our lives but may you rest in peace.   We are grateful to have been blessed by your unconditional love.

We love you,

Aunt Sandy, Uncle Brian, Big J & Amy

Taelor you are greatly missed.  We all loved you!!  Favorite memories include Disney World, chips and cheese and Taelor's ability to remember that once you told her you were going to do something, you'd better do it because Taelor wouldn't let you forget!! Sandy and I had the best time playing bingo with you in your bedroom in June and just laughing so hard it hurt.   Taelor, you were so much fun at your graduation and your 18th birthday, a party on Friday to celebrate your and cousin Ally Jo's birthdays and another on Saturday to celebrate your graduation!!   I don't know who had more fun, you or the attendees!   We will never forget your happiness with the things that really mattered--family, friends and parties!

I love you,

Aunt Kathy

Hey Mark & Nanette,

I can't stop thinking about you guys since I heard the news about Miss Tae.    She was such an incredible, wonderful, bright and loving girl.    I will always be touched with her warm personality and her love for Barney (back in the day!).   How many Barney tapes did you finally have to get rid of when she was eleven?   I think it's safe to say you had the whole darn series!

Nanette, one of my very fond memories of your endless love for her was when you guys were living in Sahalee.    When Halloween rolled around, you took special treats to all of the neighbors to hand out to Taelor so she was included in all of the festivities without feeling left out.    You never missed a beat when it cam to knowing exactly what Taelor wanted and needed.

Mark, I so remember like it was yesterday when you guys lived in Edgemoor and I would look out my window on a Saturday/Sunday morning and see you and Taelor on your ritual walks throught the neighborhood.   She always looked like she was on a mission with a big smile on her face and was ALWAYS outpacing her old man.

You guys have had quite the journey, a journey to always treasure.   I know you were all so lucky to have each other.    She will be forever loved, missed, and remembered.    I know she is floating on a cloud right now, with no worries, no pain and about 100 of her favorite animals by her side; she will never be alone.
All My Love,

Julie Raab

My name is Wendy.  I was the Teacher's Assistant in Taelor's class.  I met Taelor when I began working at Mcqueen High School this year.    My fondest memory of Taelor was getting her to dance with mirth down the halls at school.  She would become quiet sometimes in the class and to perk her up I would be silly and animated with my enthusiasm.  Taelor would brighten up and her eyes would shine and she would have the biggest smile and follow me down the halls dancing and laughing.    Taelor will be in my heart dancing, always.

I have known Taelor for the past 4 years working in the CLS class at McQueen.  Taelor always loved her animals.  She would check out books about animals and always wanted to go to the humane society to walk Maggie.  She would wear her green volunteer shirt every day if she could.  She also loved her paper work which was cutting out pictures of food and matching them with the word.  She loved going out to eat with the group and always asked if she could say hi to the guides on fieldtrips.  She had a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor.  She will be missed!

Taelor and I met at McQueen summer of 2005.  She always kept me on my toes.  She introduced me to one of my best friends, who also was a bridesmaid in my recent wedding, Emily Gessing.  She holds a very special spot in my heart. I will never forget her happy giggle!

I had the opportunity to spend a day with this wonderful young lady this last May 2008. We played bingo, jumped on the trampoline together and watch some of her favorite movies! I wish that I could have had more time with her, but the one day we spent hanging out will be with me forever. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by many people whose lives she has profoundly touched.

Mark, Nanette, Marshall and Family: Remember you are in a thoughts and prayers. In time the sun will shine again. There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to tear down and a time to rebuild. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.    Ecclesiastes 3:1-4NLT.

Love ya, Thomas, Penny, Amanda and Cash Hecox

Jake and Tom join me in sending our condolences to all of those affected by Taelor's passing. There is a candle lit at St. Joseph's Catholic Church here on Capitol Hill in Taelor's memory - and we think she'd like the fact that we rescued two adorable calico kitties this weekend, inspired by her love of animals and her work at the Humane Society. May peace be with you always, and with Taelor.

Anna Rose, Tom Petzwinkler and Jake Boesen

Dear Mark, Nanette and Marshall,

Mark and I were so very saddened to hear of Taelor's death. As a parent, I can only imagine the pain that you all must be going through. When Taelor came into this world, as parents, you had hopes and dreams of what her future could be. With Taelor’s passing, you are not only grieving for your precious daughter but are also grieving for the loss of those hopes and dreams.

I understand that losing someone you love makes the whole world feel suddenly depopulated and often we wish the world would stop, if only for a minute, to acknowledge this devastating loss. Please know that you are not alone. You have many friends that have stopped to mourn with you and are ready to support you during this difficult journey.

You all will be in our prayers,

Tanna & Mark Bailey

We are saddened by the news of Taelor's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Connie & Rich

Nanette, Mark and Marshall, We are deeply saddened to hear of Taelor's passing. We will remember her fondly walking your dog through the neighborhood. She always had a smile and it was always a joy to see her. Her love for everyone came from the wonderful support and love you gave her. We wish you God's peace during this difficult time.
Love the Plummer family.  Lisa, Darrell, Grant, Dalton, Pierce and Siena.

Mark and family,

My condolences. I imagine Taelor was a special person. How could she not be, this child of yours? There is no loss greater that that of a child and no gift greater than to have given her to the world to begin with.

Ellen Bovarnick

We had the privilege to know Taelor through summer school and Kids and Horse's. Please know that she always brought a smile to our face. Our wish for peace and our prayers are with your family.

Paul, Dinah and Cameron Deane

Mark and Family - I am so sorry for your loss. I was shocked to see the news when I was catching up on the C.S. news on The Eagle website. To lose a child must be overwhelming. God's Peace to all of you.

Ruth Larson, Williamsburg, VA

To our friends Mark, Nanette and Marshall:

We are very sorry to hear of Taelor's passing.  It saddened us and we believe that Taelor touched many lives and her family is very special.    She will always be remembered by us in thought and prayer.
With deepest sympathy,

Kevin, Valli and Dennis

I never had a privilege of meeting Taelor but I saw her through the loving and caring eyes of her father.  Love, pain, pride, fear – Mark was so transparent when he was talking about Taelor.   I want to express my deep gratitude to Mark, Nanette and Marshall who devoted the last 18 years for Taelor to experience the beauty of the world – joy of learning, dancing, jumping on trampoline, touching animals, taking walks, smelling flowers, having birthday cakes.  It takes not just unconditional love; it takes commitment, patience, faith and desire to make a difference not only in one life but in many others, which Taelor’s Foundation will continue to do.   You are an incredible family, and that is why Taelor has touched so many lives – because she witnessed so many lives touching and extending hers.   My thoughts and prayers are with Taelor flying over our heads and gently waiving to us and with you, Mark, Nanette and Marshall, to give you strengths and faith in saying “Until we see you again, Sweet Love…”

Love and Peace,

Gurevich Family - Natasha, Gennady, Yana

We commend Mark and Nanette for the unceasing love and devotion to their daughter, Taelor (or Tae, Tae as we remember) and see them as a true inspiration to all parents and as great role models for us all.

Jeff & Lisa Reents

I only know your father and he has told me all about you with a lots of care and love.  Even though, your life ended too short, you are still with your lovely dad, mom and Marshall.  You will be with your family forever and ever giving a beautiful sunshine in summer, shining star in fall, becoming bright snow in winter and bringing a sprout in spring.

Steve Nishashiba

I am thankful that I was able to spend so much time with you these past few years. From my yearly visits to Reno, to when I spent the 2006 summer with you, the bingo board was always "hot" and the diet cokes were chilled! I could sure use some "cada cada" over here in the UK.    You were so special to us all and I will continue to remember the fun times we had!

Love,
Jason

Taelor touched my life in so many ways. Her exuberant personality and the way she was always so exited to see me when ever I would come for therapy just lightened my day. She was much more than a patient to me, she was a friend. She will be greatly missed, but I know she is running free up in heaven having a marvelous time and touching even more souls.

Sherise Smith

Although my time spent with Taelor was rather brief, she has definitely left a long-lasting impression. I imagine she has done that with many that have crossed her path over the years. For me, her happy and optimistic spirit was always such a pleasure when we came together for therapy.   Her pure and authentic joy in the simple things in life... like puppies, kittens, bingo games, and snacks...  was delightful to experience and should be a lesson to all of us to appreciate what's around us.   Things that baffle us adults in our quest for understanding the meaning of life, Taelor seemed to know intuitively.  Her modeling of unconditional love and simple enjoyment, coupled with her family's compassion and tireless dedication have taught me more than most of the spirtual books on my book-shelf.   Thank you... and may you rest in peace

I know this is about Taelor, remembering the goodness and happiness in her life. With that being said you cannot not mention Mark and Nanette. Two of the greatest parents to a beautiful girl. They both showed Taelor a love you can't quite put into words except to say it was patient, sincere, and utterly remarkable from the outside looking in. The Roenigks are a true testament of what a family should be; filled with unconditional love.

The greatest thing about Tae was her excitement for the littlest of things. Barney was just a big purple dinosaur to me until I listened to the thrill in Tae's voice singing along to Barney as a little girl. I'll never look at a puppy and not hear Tae's animated voice. "Puppy, come." And more importantly I know better than thinking one game of Bingo could ever be enough.

With Tae you threw out the rules and just lived!    Maybe we could all use more of that mentality...

Love and Miss You So Much Bug!!   My prayers are with you Uncle Mark, Aunt Nan and Marshall. I imagine the heartache of losing an amazing daughter/sister.

Love Always,

Christie Gray

I was fortunate enough to spend time with Taelor this past August. We had such a great time hanging out and playing board games throughout the day(of course, she smoked me at her favorite game, Bingo!) During my time with her, Taelor taught me so much about life and was such an influence on me.

Jeff Gray

I just wanted to know that our family's thoughts and prayers are with you and Taelor now and forever.

The Maiorano Family

I remember when I first met Taelor at the baseball field. I was her team manager for Challenger Little League team. I watched her grow up there. She always had a big smile on her face. I will miss her so much. You are remembered in my prayers.

Lory Rehne

I never had the opportunity to meet Taelor but had many conversations with Mark about how he has learned charity and pure love through his chance to be a father to Taelor.

Sometime ago, I promised Mark that I and my family would pray for the Roenigk family and Taelor. As a family, we have done that. The first time we did, one of my 4-year old twins asked "Who is Mark?, Who is Taelor?" I said, "Mark is a good friend and Taelor is his little angel."

Taelor, while we've never met, I can see through your father's life how you've touched him and how you've touched others for good.

May God be with you and your family during this time.

Pete, Angie, Kameron, Skyler, Savanah, Caden, Carsen, Preston, Mylie, and Lakin Abilla

We are greatly saddened over Tae Tae's passing. The boys and I have fond memories of time spent with their God Sister. She will always have a special place in our hearts and prayers.

Susan, Chance & Ashley Bachmeier

My heart aches for you in the passing of Taelor. Such a beautiful girl!   I did not know her, but my daughter, Amelia, was a classmate of hers at McQueen and has spoken of her.   My greatest condolences in this time of loss and sadness from both myself and Amelia.

Rita Kerr

I will miss you, Taelor, very much.  You made me smile when you shared your favorite pictures with me. I was blessed to have you in my life even for short time.  Thank you for being such a friend to so many people.  May ten thousand angels come to the aid of your family in theirr time of sadness.

With all due respect ....

Mary Ann Miller
